...the past 2 weeks went by so quickly and the next thing you know, it's already the end of January...there was the super busy but very fun Sinulog weekend, a quarterly business review that came a week after and a few client visits coming up in the next few days..i don't even know how i managed to keep up :)

...the extra time that i get is spent playing with Champ - our French bulldog :)

...and ow, this app that i just downloaded for my new iPod touch is so addictive...i have been cutting few hours of my sleeping time just to get going with this game and it's well worth it...Temple Run is love :)

turning 2012 around

...the start of my 2012 may not be promising but that doesn't mean that i can't turn it around...i have realized that my pessimistic view for the new year was just because of the German measles where i felt like i was literally on my deathbed but now that i've recovered, i feel like an Energizer bunny bursting with energy :)

...few things will keep me busy for the rest of January...my close friends including my BFF are coming over for Sinulog...i'm planning to take some time off from work so i can get enough rest for the weekend parties (last year was a BLAST!)...i haven't seen my bestfriend for a long time and this one is extra special coz she is now preggers with her 2nd baby and i can't wait to spend time catching up with her :)

...i will also be flying to Manila a week after for a quarterly business review in Makati...performance for Q4 is not that stellar and i think i may have a bit of a hard time for this review (wish me luck!)...one good thing about it is that it coincides with the premiere of Mamma Mia in Manila which is something that i really wanted to see...it creates the perfect timing for me to catch the show and cross it off from my bucket list :)

..there's still a lot of things i'd like to talk about but it's time to take Champ for an exercise (yes, i'm now starting to become a dog lover, this is sooo not me , i know! LOL!)

New Year and summer/spring 2012 portfolio

...i made a promise to myself to go back to being a regular blogger (read: at least once a week) but my crazy social calendar for the past month made me forget that...to backtrack a bit, i have attended a couple of Christmas parties, one for the company and one for my program - both turned out to be quite ok..i liked the party for my program better than the one for the company (i hated the dancing part, yes, for the 1st time ever, i made my debut dance performance - que horror LOL!)

...i also spent the weekend after in Batangas to attend the wedding of a close friend - she was breathtakingly beautiful and i'm so happy for her :) there's always something special about seeing a friend walk down the aisle, it's a mixed feeling of happiness and excitement and at the same time wishing that exact moment can also happen to yourself :)

...the last of 2 weeks of December didn't quite go well..i lost my ipod touch (first time in almost 7 years that i didn't get to use one) and to make that worse, i also lost my Blackberry, the one that i used for work (and i'm still waiting for the replacement)

...to make things even more disastrous, i got infected by German measles and just getting some medical attention for it was more painful than dealing with the virus...Chong Hua is the worst hospital in Cebu if not, in the whole world!!! i have made a promise to myself not to go there unless i'm fighting for my last breath and it's the only option available..i am still feeling a bit sick up until today and i have not been able to go back to work for more than a week now but i know that this too will pass and once i get back to my fighting form, i will be awesome LOL!!!

...let me end this by posting this quote from the movie - New Years Eve followed by a couple of shots from my photoshoot when i went home for the holidays :) - "New Year is about getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to give more, to love more"

when Christmas comes

...Christmas is upon us my friends, 22 more days to go actually (time flies fast indeed) i have started setting up my tree a week ago but only got the time to post about it now...i think i did a decent job bringing the tree to life (at least in my own personal taste LOL!) ...the feeling of creating something beautiful and festive makes me feel very excited like one of those kids waiting for Santa's present come Christmas eve :)

...we can't talk about Christmas without talking about the gifts..this year, i have decided to do it early because my social calendar for December is crazy and i may not have the time to buy gifts for friends...2 down, a lot more to go and i hope that this year i won't miss out anyone important (i tend to have a selective memory LOL!)

...on a different note, i'll be going back to paradise (that's Shangri-la Mactan by the way) tomorrow...i feel that i need some break after enduring a very crappy workweek...this breather will also be the perfect time to finish my brain food for the week - Steig Larsson's "The Girl Who Played With Fire" which spent too much time already in my bookshelf:)

...i got some time off from work today coz it's Thanksgiving Day and what better way to celebrate it than watching something happy, something like Happy Feet 2 and since we don't do turkeys here in the Philippines, this chicken can compensate - or at least i think it does :)

..there are a lot of things i'm thankful for this year and i think i posted most of it in a previous blog but for what it's worth, i'm thankful to have a work that i really love, a boyfriend who tolerates my diva attitude, gorgeous girlfriends who love me to death, a supportive family and for the good health - now all i need is a 6-pack and i'll be extremely thankful LOL!

SSB - the Sunday shower routine

...i remember about one episode of Sex and the City where Carrie was talking about SSB (Single Secret Behavior) which she defined as an action or habit that one indulges in only when alone...this is the reason why i always love Sundays' - it paves the way to do my own SSB...i know most SSBs' put out there in the show were downright embarrassing but mine is i think worth something sharing LOL!

...every Sunday afternoon, usually right after the clock hits 4, i lock myself up in the shower and spend an hour and a half date with these babies...my SSB shower essentials :)

...i always start off with Kiehl's Ultimate Man Body Scrub soap (not shown in the picture above for obvious reasons)...this soap scrub is made out of bran and oatmeal which perfectly works on those rough areas (the elbows and heels) and it smells very invigorating...i call it the "Fatigue Scrubber"

...Kiehl's Amino Acid shampoo comes next..this baby creates a smooth lather on your hair and made out of coconut oil and amino acids (i usually don't like the smell of coconut oil but i made an exemption on this one)

...every man needs a good shaving cream and Kiehl's Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream is the best i've tried so far..i said goodbye to the other shaving cream few months ago..this makes the whole shaving process less of a work and less manly LOL! and leaves your skin moisturized :)

...Kiehl's Facial Fuel Energizing Face Wash is something that i have been using for a long time and i like the cool feeling it has on my face (it has to do something with the caffeine and menthol in the mixture)...true to its name, this one leaves you feeling refueled, reenergized and refreshed :)

...the 2nd half of this lengthy shower routine goes back to doing another scrub...i bought 3 bottles of salt scrubs when i was in San Francisco and it became the perfect addition to my shower routine..this salt scrub is infused with bamboo, rainforest and citrus/basil oils which made the 3-layer salt scrub combo DIVINE!!! :)

...Philosophy's Cinnamon buns is the perfect finisher for this routine...after putting in a lot of refreshing wonders, i like to finish it off with something sweet, silky and ridiculously smooth...this shower gel/bubble bath/shampoo combo smells like freshly baked cinnamon buns..it's sooo good that i literally want to eat myself when lathering it on my skin :)

...after all that, the cherry on this routine is Kiehl's Facial Fuel SPF 15 which i have been using for the past 3 years (it's something i give credit to for my clear, flawless skin LOL!!!)...it has the same refreshing effect with the special wash but only better because of its SPF :)

...this is a not a blog about Kiehl's by the way (but i wouldn't mind getting something from them for whoring them out LOL!)...i know this shower routine is nothing out of the ordinary and may not come close to what girls do on a daily basis but it's something i have been doing to recharge myself and get me pumped-up for work the day after :)

...a tweet from Jewel was the perfect kickoff for my 28th birthday..i didn't really expect her to take the time to send me some love but she did and i was just blown away :) i've been a big fan of her since her 1st album...the name of this blog, my Facebook and Twitter account are all inspired by her so getting the RT was such a huge thing for me :)

...the birthday celebration started with a power breakfast at the Marco Polo Plaza with my team...it was just perfect since i didn't get the chance to grab some dinner (blame it on our MIA househelp #fail!)

...few hours after, me and my weekend friends went to Tides in Shangri-la Mactan to have a birthday lunch...they got me the aquarium room reserved which was just perfect :)

...the food was AMAZING (as expected) and the team from Tides surprised me with a birthday cake along with a funny interpretation of the "Happy Birthday" song...what made it more funny was the name that they used in the birthday greeting - my real name..imagine a harmony of "It's Alfredo's birthday" amidst the singing (not music to my ears obviously LOL!)

..thank you friends for spending time and celebrating my birthday with me...now, all i need to do is to fulfill my birthday wishlist and make them all come true :)

red velvet love

...i attended a friend's birthday party last night and had some red velvet cupcakes for dessert (which i think is the perfect way to cap a meal after having so much of that roast beef LOL!)...i have been a fan of red velvet cupcakes for the longest time and whenever i get the chance to visit Sonja in Serendra, red velvet is definitely on top of the order list

...and since we're on the topic of red velvet cupcakes, the best that i had so far was the one from the famous Magnolia bakery in NYC

..the place was packed as usual but i didn't really mind the long line coz i know it will be worth it plus the cupcakes displayed in the rack looked so sinfully good that you just want to eat them all and just forget the fact that they can do so much damage to your hips LOL!

...Magnolia's red velvet cheesecake has a chocolate cookie crust for its base followed by a red velvet cheesecake layer and topped with whipped vanilla icing..just describing it makes me want to grab one right now!!!

...comparison is easily done once you had a taste of perfection...in this case, i will be waiting for another trip to Magnolia to get a little piece of that cupcake heaven :)

on halloween and costumes

...each time halloween comes close, my mind is flooded with a lot of costume ideas but i never get to materialize them...i'm not the shy type, i can tell you that but there's always something in me that holds me back everytime i want to pull off something major for halloween...i think i will stick to what i do best - giving treats to kids who couldn't even pull off a trick :)

...with that in mind, i have updated my bucket list to make sure that before i hit 30 (2 more years from now) i will fulfill my dream of dressing up as Rogue of X-Men LOL!!! now all i need is a fab wig and a good pair of white gloves

...i'll be having my birthday 2 weeks from now and i'm starting to hate the fact that i'm nearing my 30's (i'll be turning 28 by the way)...i have a lot to be thankful for this year and i was able to accomplish a lot of things in my bucket list and i just have to post them here to make sure i get to immortalized them :)

1. watched the amazing Cirque du Soleil's breath-taking performance of Varekai...the show which lasted for about 2 hours was just so captivating that i didn't want it to end (and ow, i was still rocking a shaved head at this time)

2. enjoyed Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite tour in Manila and i must say the wait was so worth it...it was by far, the best concert i've been into :) love live the goddess! (and did i mention that this show was just a day after Varekai?)

3. went to the Zoo for the first time...it was one of those things that i didn't get to do during my childhood and i was very happy to finally get to visit one and Washington DC's National Zoo for a first timer is totally not a bad one :)

4. cried more than 4 times while watching Wicked - the Musical on Broadway...it may not be Idina Menzel as the lead but Jackie Burns did Elphaba justice..i am still overplaying the soundtrack up until this time :)

5. conquered NYC for 6 days and it was still not enough but i get to cover the basics - Statue of Liberty, Grand Central, Empire State building tour, Central Park, Rockefeller, SoHo, the MET and Upper East Side and of course the Times Square :)

6. finally reunited with my chilhood bestfriend in San Francisco after not seeing each other for the last 6 years...4 days was not enough and she made me fell in love with San Francisco that leaving her and the city made me very emotional

...i should feel like i need to segue to telling you what i wanted for my birthday but i feel like it needs a new post (i'm becoming more and more materialistic LOL!)

...i spent the weekend in CDO for a much needed vacation and got the chance to spend some time with my girlfriends...nothing much on the itinerary, just hanging out and catching up on things that happened for the past few months :)

...i got on a rough start with Avida, two sales agents were fighting over the commission they will be getting from my purchase (one was the one i was sending an email to and one who i signed the contract with)...all i wanted was to pay and get my contract but no, they got me into this mess that made me think that maybe getting one is such a bad idea

... good thing it was fixed right away or else i will be having a BIG bitch fit...i am a very patient person, totally not confrontational but when you hit on my last nerve, you will see the monster alter ego and you won't like it...not at all LOL!

...i guess it's the season of buying investments...2 of my closest friends also made some purchases but they opted with getting units from Horizon 101...for the past 2 days, we've been doing a lot of contract signing and i just love it coz i feel like a movie star LOL!!!!

...can't wait for weekend to come...i'll get to spend some time with one of my supergirlfriends fresh from NYC :) hope you all get to enjoy your weekend :)

...it will always come to a point where you'll start thinking about your future and sometimes it hits you in the most unexpected way (i got mine while downing a couple scoops of yogurt LOL!)...i got some money stashed into a savings account but the thought of investing into something bigger didn't come to mind until now

...just last week i finally took the first step of thinking about the future by getting my own condo unit which means i might have to slow down on my splurges (the ridiculously priced headphones, the Hugo Boss and Lacoste shirts, designer eyewear and then some)...got to make small sacrifices for it will all be worth it in the end :)

...this boy will be working so much harder....wish me luck :)

...my flight to Boracay last weekend was delayed for 4 hours (note to self: no more Cebu Pacific, none if i can help it) but spending few days in the island with BB love and few close friends made it all worth it :)

...my flight back to Cebu was a total disaster (yes, i messed up my flight booking BIG time!)...i ended booking a totally different route which included a side trip to Manila...but as they say, you gotta make lemonades if life gives you lemons :)

...i'm now back to my reality of being a corpo slave...at least i got my beats solo to cheer me up :)

3+ months

...it has been 3 months since i made a blog entry and i couldn't even remember why i stopped doing it...but since it's raining heavy outside and i got nothing else to do, what the heck, i'll do a lot of catching up in a couple of days

...nothing spectacular happened the past few months, Holidays came with the extra pounds i packed in as a bad reminder of what i have been doing the past few months...but i'm starting to lose them now - yeah, i guess i can tell myself that

...work's pretty much the same, i have been motivating myself for the longest time and i don't know what else can keep me going...as of now, the only reason why i'm keeping it is that it pays the bills..my passion for it was already lost few months ago and i don't know when it will be back

...at least i can have something to look forward to this weekend...i'll be hitting Boracay for some RnR with BB and some old friends from work, plus i will get the chance to take this baby out on a spin and see if it's worth buying it :)

...i remember being in the island the same week exactly a year ago and i had a really great time and i'm hoping this one's going to top that :)

...after few months of waiting, S&R finally opened in Cebu and that equally translates to one thing - my cherry Coke!!! i decided to go there earlier to take advantage of the zero traffic (thanks to Manny Pacquiao)...but i was wrong in expecting that it wouldn't be that crowded...the place is still packed!

...but after seeing the stack of cherry Coke boxes, it made it all worth it...i die and went to cherry Coke heaven!

...i was also able to hoard my favorite 3 musketeers, teddy grahams and my fave soy milk Silk in vanilla flavor...i can't wait to go back there and do cartwheels along the grocery aisles! :)

x-mas wishlist 2010

...now that my b-day's over, it's time for me to move on to my annual x-mas wishlist and this year, i have a great feeling that i'll get all these babies before the year ends :)

1. Solo HD Beats by Dr. Dre - i think this will be the perfect pair for my new iPod touch. The bass is amazing and it's noise canceling which is just perfect. The only con for this baby is it makes your ears sweat after using it for too long but i think it's something that won't bother me much

2. Brown Calf Strap for Philip Stein - my lizard strap is way too overused and i need to get a different color with a different texture...not as luxurious but it looked as beautiful with that crocodile strap

3. Polycarbonate iPod Touch case - the best thing about this case is that it comes with a kickstand back for convenient FaceTime video calling and landscape media viewing and the colors available are just sweet :)

4. Oakley Probation - i saw this pair a day after i bought my Oakley Holbrook and i instantly loved it...i just think that it's not right to get this pair when i haven't even used the new Holbrook but i will definitely get this baby before this year ends :)

...these babies are in the top list right now and i still got a lot on my list which i prefer to keep it to myself...who knows someone will just surprise me with something special come Christmas :)

...i just had the best birthday ever!!! and i can't believe it was already over...it's always best to get to spend your special day with the people you love...i remember 2 years back not celebrating it at all and what made it worst was that i didn't get anything from the person i so much love at that time - not even a phone call! (and yes, that is one of the reasons why he's called the ex-bf)...enough with the bad memories and off to the really good ones :)

...had lunch with close friends at Ipar's (food was not that great by the way) but the company of good friends and my BB totally made up for it :)

...my b-day loot included a new Belkin laptop bag which was very timely since i now have 2 laptops - one for work and my Mac for personal use...i also got the new X series undies from Calvin Klein and the best of all was the Marvel Encyclopedia which i have been wanting since last x-mas :)

...the encyclopedia is the coolest thing ever (thanks to my BB for being so thoughtful)...each page is oozing with so much awesomeness i'm blown away! and the effort that was put into it by my boyfriend was just wonderful :)

...i still have a lot of books to read though coz most of my other gifts were book titles i've been wanting to read, one of them is the Millennium trilogy and i can't wait to get started :)

...i'm just the happiest boy on earth right now! :)

...few hours from now, i'll be a year older and i'm at a point in my life where i can say i'm genuinely happy...i have a stable job that affords me some beautiful sometimes useless things, a boyfriend who super loves me, great set of friends - they're not much but they're all special :)

...nothing fancy for tomorrow, just an intimate lunch with close friends that are here in Cebu and few more friends from work..made reservations at Ipar's - a Spanish resto i've been wanting to check out for the longest time...pre-ordered the staple paella, slow-cooked chicken and some lengua and will just decide on the rest when i get there...i just hope the food will taste good coz they looked super delish in the picture :)

...and since it's my birthday, i've already given myself 2 gifts in advance hehehe...a new scent called Milano by Prada which comes in a huge 200ml bottle which i super like :) it starts off with a clean powder scent which then turn into a masculine but very subtle scent :)

..and a new pair of shades (which i think is about time i get a new one) Holbrook by Oakley which is super cool...the frame is super light and the lens are just wonderful!

...these shades felt like they were the ones used by cyclops of the x-men LOL!!! too bad my Blackberry cam didn't give this picture much justice hehehe

...i still got a few things on my bday wishlist..who knows one of my friends got one item or two in that list for me...it will be so much easier moving to my x-mas wishlist if that's the case :)

...i downloaded Mariah Carey's 2nd christmas album earlier and i have been overplaying it for the last couple of hours...it exceeded way beyond my expectations!!! it's vintage Mariah and i super love it...the physical release of the album will be a day before my bday and i can't wait to get my hands on it (better yet , someone can give it to me as a birthday gift)

...and i'm now being reminded to start completing my birthday wishlist which includes a new timepiece, a good book, a new case for the new ipod touch, a new pair of shades, a fresh new scent and a box of cherry coke :)

...one of the items in my to-do list is to find a red pair of shoes and finally!!! after few weeks of searching for one, i was able to find it last weekend and i was super happy (i was like a little boy seeing the most gorgeous toy for the first time)...it's just what i wanted to wear on my birthday (which is 2 weeks away from now by the way)

...i have also started reading a new book and spent flipping few chapters of The Hunger Games before bedtime...it's fast-paced and interesting plot kept me up way pass my bedtime but it's worth it..can't wait to get my hands on the other 2 books of this series

...i still have a few things to cross off my list before my bday and one of them is to decide where to spend it..i was thinking of taking the beach route but i don't know where...i spent a weekend in Shangri-la 2 weeks ago, did Hilton 2 months back and the new Crimson bored the hell out of me and the food was bad...it's the most boring breakfast buffet second to something you can get in Microtel (which was the worst by far) and no, Plantation Bay is not even an option

...so there, i've ran out of options and bahala na si Batman...i'll decide when that day comes...i know i'll be force to make a quick decision for sure

...time flies fast when you're having the best time of your life and the past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind...work is way crazier than the usual (i got a client onsite and i have to do the best host role) that at the end of the shift, i'm like a dead beaten horse

...good thing, at the end of each shift, there's always someone making me happy...it's been 4 months since we're officially together and i am loving you more each day :)

2. finish reading Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides and American Gods by Neil Gaiman before i start reading something else
3. take out my BB to a fabulous dinner to celebrate our 4th month
4. finish listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows audiobook before the movie gets shown
5. learn to cook a new dish
6. learn a new hobby..something different to do on a weekend
7. buy a red pair of shoes
8. book an early ticket for New Year
9. bring back my love for Facebook..my FB status has been the same for the last 3 days
10. see my old friends coz i miss them so badly

...can i just say fuck my life!! i am such a loser please kill me now? i'm not feeling good at all lately and it's all because of some work stuff...i started out as a rockstar when i finally got to handle my own program...took the whole site #1 for 8 consecutive weeks and then now it seems like everything is fading in the background

...my only saving grace from being a total loser is having to come home and see boyfriend smiling...knowing that someone still loves you even if you suck big time at something you think you were really good at

...this is a wake up call and i need to do something to turn things around..probably few weeks from now, i will look back at this post and will laugh for venting hate and giving myself such a hard time for not delivering an awesome performance...oh well, there's no other way to go but up :)

...got some news yesterday about us having to do a photoshoot for a company promo...it's something that i haven't done before so i was a bit excited about it.... head to the studio and came prepared, it's about time i can put my Zara suit to good use :)

...made a quick stop at Starbucks for some caffeine fix before the shoot...i needed something to perk me up and a tall hot signature chocolate was just what i needed :)

...30 plus minutes and i was doing like a pro...like it was 2nd to breathing LOL!!!!

...i can't wait to see the printed stills..yay!! i got to get some sleep...i'll be in Boracay for the weekend and i haven't started packing...as usual :)

...yes, my last post was more than a month ago and it wasn't by choice - i just didn't have the time...to sum up the month that was, please see list below :)

1. i got a promotion which takes up 80% of my time (handling 2 programs is not a walk in the park but sometimes i daydream that it is).

2. my lovelife is going stronger, getting better and i'm still madly in love like it was the first time :)

3. moved to a new place...better and closer to the office and that explains the death of my online life (have to find the time to get an internet service installed)

4. got a business trip which included seeing my best friends over the weekend and it was one of the best ever!!!

...and the list goes on and i'm already too sleepy to finish the details...this blog used to be my weekend outlet (sometimes daily) and i just need to find my rhythm to balance work and personal stuff and besides, i got a super nice bed that looks good enough to eat...cherries!!! yum! :)

...we'll see in the next few weeks but as of now, this blog remains super boring :)

...i have been MIA for the last couple of weeks in the blog world since i got my promotion...the first week of being an operations manager was too toxic that i was disoriented for one whole week...and then i started to get the hang of it...and now, i'm back to my old efficient self :)

...i should be able to catch up on other things soon...i got 3 unfinished novels to read, season finales to watch (CSI, Dexter, Lie To Me, Desperate Housewives), a much more creative surprise for an upcoming 2nd month with my bb and the whole laundry list goes on

...but for now, i have a canceled flight to Boracay to thank for....this post wouldn't materialize if not for it :)

...i have been pretty busy with work lately...i'm the auto-out type and up until this point i can't see myself working for more than 9 hours daily except every Wednesday (it's my performance deck day)...this week though is toxic, way toxic...i have been staying in the office for more than 12 hours and i'm starting to hate myself for it

...the only thing that makes everything lighter is when you know someone's always there trying to make you happy..just earlier, boyfriend surprised me with a lil' gift but he delivered it in the chessiest way possible and i wouldn't want it in any other way LOL!

...i was smiling the whole time i was inside the elevator carrying his gift (good thing i was all alone that time hehehe)...he still managed to surprise me when i least expect it and i just love him more for that

...so to compensate for what he's done, i grabbed a can of tea from Coffeebean and made a personalized greeting card to go along with it...oh yes, my first attempt at being creative LOL!!!

...my Pikachu was like a hybrid between a Pokemon and a tarsier hahhahaha...but as they say, it's the thought that counts....ah, the crazy things you do for love hehehe

...and by the time i got home, he already got it posted in his FB...my BB's just super proud...and yes, the FB world now got to see how bad my handwriting is hahaha!

...i used to spend my Sundays sleeping the whole day or running series marathons but the last one was different...it was way too special :)

...future boyfriend came over and cooked dinner...we had pasta (he cooked a killer carbonara by the way), toasted garlic bread, some red and white wine and mango float for dessert...the only thing missing are the candles to make it super romantic...and most surprising was he brought me flowers which was for me the icing on the cake that night...it's my first time to ever get one so it's a standout moment :) and from here on, this song will always be super sweet :)

...went to bed with a smile on my face (we even have the same FB status that night, cheesy i know but when you're in love, it doesn't matter)

...spent the early morning paying my phone and credit card bills and got a haircut (which is way overdue by the way)..and future boyfriend likes it :)

...was caught up in a very bad situation yesterday and for a moment i thought it was already the end of me...part of our apartment burned and i was the one who caused it...i tripped on an extension wire which then exploded and caused the fire and produced too much smoke enough to kill you in a minute...it happened so fast that not only i was disoriented, i was in the point of passing out (yeah, i was still half-asleep when i tripped on that wire)

...i'm still having chest pains up until now for inhaling too much of that smoke (too much ozone from burnt wires i guess)...thank God my housemates were quick enough to put off the fire or else i'm trapped in that room...burned...and that's tragic...and that's not a fabulous way to die :(

...speaking of 2nd chances, someone's making me super happy lately...and yes, i think i am falling in love...again :) we'll see how it goes...i'm keeping my fingers crossed

...finally, the election fever will be over in the next few days...no more irritating political ads in TV/radio and all will be back to regular programming...i did not get the chance to vote coz i missed out on the registration (i'll try to make it the next time)...so to make use of the holiday, i decided to do some retail therapy hehe :)

...went around to look for some brown shirt to go along with my new shoes (which i will be getting later this afternoon hand carried by a friend)...sadly, Cebu is still very limited when it comes to shops for men...i just decided to go for the safest choice..a brown pique polo shirt from Lacoste

...went looking for something new to read after coz i haven't read anything new since the Percy Jackson series which was few months ago...ended up getting a cheap chicken cookbook (which i will be using this coming weekend) and American Gods by Neil Gaiman (which i'm enjoying so far...5 chapters down)

...the rest of the night was spent chatting over Skype and by tonight i'll be back to work again...only this time i think i got a reason to be a bit excited about it :)

...went to the mall yesterday to get a charger for my phone (the old one decided to stop working) and while looking for one i saw a gorgeous pair of shades from RL and i knew right away that i have to get it...i ended going home without the charger hehehe :)

...the shape of the frame is a bit similar to my Ray-ban though the size is slimmer...took it out to lunch earlier and i'm super liking it...my RB 3360 is now officially retired :)

...went to Hola Espana after to have some churros for dessert...i swear, it's the best ever!!! it was better than Auntie Anne's pretzels which i used to super love way back college

...they are all staying in my room by the way, so we're cuddling like packed sardines in my bed heheh...we're off to Imperial Palace after lunch time for some cocktails and early dinner...tiring but at least i get to do something worthwhile for the weekend :)

...did a quick retail therapy earlier to get something to wear for the party...good thing i reserved something from Lacoste over the weekend...got it earlier and then i made a quick stop at the salon to get a new hair color (i'm now sporting a dark ash blonde do)

...now all i'm waiting is for my shoes to arrive...i asked a friend to get it for me...fell in love with it the first time i saw it online...if only Zara opens up a flagship store in Cebu i'll be happier :)

...now the only thing i need to make sure is to not forget my b-day gift :) i was amused by the concept of customizing your own stuff toy complete with a birth certificate

...this is the safest i can get for a 1-year old on top of a pair denim jeans and jacket from Levi's Kids...it's going to be a very wonderful weekend :)

...just downloaded 12 Gig worth of the original X-men animated series and i got the whole Sunday morning to enjoy it...it felt like i was back to being a 6-year old kid again waiting every Friday night to catch a single episode hehehe..i got 103 episodes to enjoy and i'm going to have a viewing party soon with friends over pasta and wine..welcome to the kids at heart club hehe :)

...after spending the last few weekends at home i was finally convinced by friends to go out on a Saturday night (got no choice really, they showed up knocking on my door already made up, interrupting my X-Men trilogy marathon)

...it's pretty much the same when you go out these days...i've seen few new faces but they don't seem to excite me at all...i don't know if i was just looking for something more interesting or that partyboy inside me is totally dead...either way, it was quite a waste of time...had 2 shots of vodka and called it a night (my alcohol tolerance is back to square 1)

...now, i still have my X-Men trilogy to go back to :)

...come early Sunday morning i was one with the whole Philippines glued to the TV set to catch Manny Pacquiao's fight on Pay Per View while having some brunch with friends from work :)

...it wasn't as exciting as his previous fights but you gotta hand it to the guy for still being on top of his game..if not for Clottey's nasty defense till the 12th run he could have been knocked out and i could have won some cash (i bet for the fight to be over by the 7th round hehehe)

...2 days ago i heard it from the local TV that summer officially started and i just thought i started it way too early - from spending the weekend at Imperial Palace to Boracay the week after...i'm now in the process of getting my skin tone back to where it used to be...i find it funny sometimes to see myself in the mirror looking way too dark :)

...and since it's summer, everyone needs something colorful, light and breezy so i got myself the perfect scent for the season - Diesel's "Fuel For Life" - summer edition :) i checked Rustan's earlier and it won't be available locally until early April :)

...i have been obsessing about the original Fuel For Life when i get to smell it the first time...and to have something of a lighter version that's perfect for daywear is just absolutely wonderful...i'll probably be using this daily till summer ends :)

...what's your favorite perfume/cologne for summer kids? suggestions? if you can find something better than this then you are a genius...but then again we have different senses so to each his own :)

...my friend who recently came back from her short vacation in Japan (i'm super jealous), sent me something from Calvin Klein as pasalubong...but instead of having it sent over LBC, she was possessed and decided to send it through the post office...and that screwed up everything...it took us both multiple phone calls to do a follow-up on it's delivery

...my last resort was to go to post office and made a personal follow-up and only after that i was able to get the package...psot office system here sucks bigtime...it's like going through HELL!!!

...good thing i didn't get to the point where i have to throw a bitch fit...a little intimidation was all i needed (a lil' American accent works wonders hehehe)

...i ended up having an unplanned getaway last Sunday when me and my housemates decided to go to Imperial Palace - it's a new waterpark resort and hotel in Mactan...the pictures posted in their website were worth checking out so we went to see the place and plan for a day tour

...the first thing i saw in the carpark when we got their was this beetle that was an exact replica of Herbie...i knew i have to take a picture right away and channel Lindsay Lohan...damn! i left my leather jacket - i'm sure it will make the picture perfect!

...the place was surprisingly HUGE...bigger than my usual fave Shangri-la..and their waterpark was interesting enough that i was instantly turned into a little kid getting excited to try all of the good stuff my eyes have seen...can i just say wet, wet, wet in the most literal sense? I LOVE IT!!!

...we ended spending the night at the hotel...and oh boy, what made it perfect was we were upgraded to a suite room with the same local rate you pay for a regular roomm...i'll say it again...PERFECT!!! hahaha

..i did one bad move 2 days ago, so stupid that i still can't get over it...i tried updating not only the software version of my iPod touch but also the firmware which equals to getting all of my songs deleted

...it's an old iPod i know but i love it to death...it's my ultimate life support for all of my lunch breaks and all those me-myself-and-i moments at work...and now i'm going to rebuild it, starting with more than 3000 lost songs, playlists that ranges from old high school stuff to freshest unreleased cuts

...the price you have to pay for being a happy clicker...i just wish i can get close to as what it used to be...but i know it will take a VERY long time to do that :(

...work for this week is a bit toxic coz we got clients visiting the site till Friday..so no slack allowed (not that i'm saying i do when they're not here)...i got 2 more weeks to spare and we'll have another client visit and a quarterly business review after that (i might be heading to Clark for it)

...i wore the jacket i've been obsessing the last week earlier in the office...took a few shots to take my mind off from work for a while :)

...i didn't get to see it the last time i visited Zara in Manila...thanks to my online shopping skills, i was able to find the product code and asked a friend to buy it for me...it's a bit pricey for a jacket (i can buy 2 Lacoste polo shirts with the price but it's soo worth it)....can't wait to whore it out hehehe

...now all i need is a new pair of shades for Boracay come the next weekend :)

...i went out last night with one of my close friends to help her with a job interview she's about to have within the week..it will be her first time EVER to try getting a job and since she's applying for a call center, i was the perfect guy to do the coaching/mock interview

...had dinner at Tsim Tsha Tsui (and i must say, i LOVE it much!) and got some dessert at the usual Gelatissimo where we did our lil' mock interview in a corner table :)

...all the luck in the world for my girl...i'm confident that she'll be able to wing it...that night was worth spending outside rather than keeping the original plan of house arrest :)

...5 days more and it's the start of February and i got 2 major things lined up (and no, not one of them includes the overrated Valentine's day hehehe)

...the promotion i was waiting for finally came and trust me i've been waiting for it for too long...i was already at the point of deciding when to give my resignation letter (i gave it another 15 days more and if it isn't there yet then i'll kiss my company goodbye)...since it did, now i'm a little happy and i'll stay and enjoy the moment till i get to that point again of wanting to leave

...speaking of waiting, this one came so unexpectedly...someone i used to be with almost all the time way back college added me up in Facebook and sent me a message...he was hot way back then but now he's way HOTTER!!! i was distracted by the profile pic that the message he sent instantly was last priority

...agree much? shet!!!! i can't wait to see him and catch up...just like the old times :)

...last week marked my 4th year celebrating Sinulog and i think this year was one of the best i ever had (the first year i got to experience it set the bar too high hehehe)...my friends from college came over as well as my bestfriend and an old friend from Singapore (talking about spreading yourself too thin)

...i ended up being a busy bee meeting a lot of friends that by the end of the weekend i was super exhausted...but it was all worth it :)

...these are just some of the pictures posted over FB and there's a lot more...different crowd, different place...the only thing constant was me :)

...i spent the whole Monday in a beach somewhere north for some much needed Sinulog detox...till next year kids :)

old flame

...when you rekindle an old flame then you must be ready for the consequences to come (specially when it ended bad the first time)...but this one is a totally different story...it is a reconciliation for all the right reasons :)

...i've been going out a few times with this guy (who happens to not fit in any category of my IDEAL type checklist by the way) and we hit it off right away...it was something that was designed to be just a casual thing, lustful (he was crazy good in bed - a pleaser in a very excellent way), and most of the time our conversations are all about the same thing since we don't get that much in common

...he was the ultimate probinsyano type and i was the one who's super exposed to everything worldly (i just couldn't find the exact word to describe it)...but as i've said we clicked..and then there was a long hiatus...a break...something tragic happened, his dad passed away...he spent the last few months in his hometown

...i gave him the time he needed...no calls, no text...nothing

...then earlier i got a call, he was back in town...and although he's still hurting, i saw in his eyes how much he missed me..and it felt like it was the first time i saw him all over again :)

..i had a very long day earlier that by the time i got home i was totally knocked out...woke up with an aching head and was starving like crazy...now that i'm fed, i can now spill details about it :)

...the original plan was to get a haircut and buy some nose pore strips (i got blackheads and they've been bugging me for the longest time)...since my hair stylist was still not available, i ended having a spur moment of retail therapy...i hate myself...i should be saving for something bigger...oh well

...saw a nice pair of leather shoes in Lacoste, bought it up for dress-up days for work (see i can always justify every purchase) hehehe..too bad the pic didn't do much justice to it...bad camera phone...hate it!

...head to Rustans after and saw that Calvin Klein was on sale...seeing those pro rib trunks half their original price is like lechon on a sunday morning, it is super irrisistable hehe...bought 2 and probably i'd be back for more :)

...i've been losing steam with how the way i do my job lately...i used to push myself really hard to meet whatever expectations my boss/client have of me...but now, i think that drive is fading and i'm afraid by the next couple of weeks it will all be gone

...i used to be excited in attending meetings/calibrations (coz i can get to talk a lot) but lately i've been dreading to attend one...i used to enjoy the time being locked in the confines of that corner office...i've mastered the art of multi-tasking of taking pictures of myself and that of talking to clients at the same time

...but now, i just HATE doing any of it..

...i need something to motivate myself and to find back that purpose of why i always try to be the best...if i can't find that motivation then i guess, i need someone to kick me hard in the ass to get back to my old self

...this is sooo not right :(

....had coffee with prettyboy earlier at Starbucks and we exchanged Percy Jackson books and surprise surprise - he gave me a post x-mas gift...i thought it was very sweet and thoughtful of him to do an effort...i haven't received much gift last x-mas, so this is like an icing on a cake :)

...and look what he got me? hehehe :) as much as i want to flip them on the other side i can't...this blog should stay kid friendly hehhee

resolutions

Here we go with the resolutions...i think i'd like to copy paste some items from last year because i never get to do them :) hopefully this time, my will's stronger than my body and mind hehehe

1. Less coffee. I will only have coffee on weekends unless someone's paying for me during workdays :) That's instant Php 1,100 savings right there per week!

2. Need to zero out credit card dues and have the other one canceled.

3. Go less on the carbs and this time be serious about it and not go on one-time yoyo diets. The goal is to fit back into those Tylers'.

4. Less indulgence (and i'm not talking about the material things hehehe).

5. Will try to enroll in a gym. TRY is the operative word...so no pressure...no pressure at all.

6. Be more in touch with old friends. Go on a vacation to visit them once in every 3 months. You'll see me more often in CDO and Manila this time and who knows NYC!!! right Danne?

7. Plan to go to Bangkok middle of the year - yes, the gay sabbatical either alone or with someone (that is if i'm still attached hehehe).

8. Start investing. Enough said.

9. Learn to drive this year. This is really is it!.

10. Be happier this 2010.

...i got a text message late in the afternoon yesterday from a friend telling me about how my ex (the 2nd one) is going ballistic on him...i called up my friend and asked for the details - the dirty details (X was calling him names - the really nasty ones)

...i just find it absurd that up until this time he thinks that he still got a hold of me and i don't even know how he found out about me being friends with someone he happened to know...all of my exes (which is not much of a number by the way -2) deleted me from their FB account so you can call it stalking at its finest if they get to find details about whatever is happening with my life...

...anyway, i just hope that he gets to finally move on (i thought he already did)...and i wish that he gets to grow up and be mature about the thing that happened between us..it was short and sweet and ending the relationship was the right thing to do before anything worse happens

...in a span of less than an hour (52 minutes to be exact), i kiss 40k+ goodbye...these are the times that as much as you want to love x-mas, the thought of overspending is not something to be loved at all...and mind you, i haven't started buying gifts yet coz what i was doing was paying multiple bills - credit card, phone bill and the whole nine yards

...2 days more and i'm going home to spend time with my family for 8 days - perfect fix for some time off from work which i badly needed...and i'm excited this time coz some of my childhood friends that i haven't seen for a very long time will also be home..yey!

...hopefully this x-mas will turn out just fine :)

...did some charity work earlier this morning at a home for sick and malnourished kids somewhere in Cebu...getting there was almost a horror ride - it's like the slumps of India magnified ten folds and i don't want to start talking about the details of the sight...it's just bad, no, horrible is the correct word

...i'm sure anyone who can see those kids will have their heart broken...they all looked so fragile and all you want to do is to take care of them and take them out of the place they're in...but that's not always the case...i can't imagine how these parents go on having unprotected sex and not thinking about the consequences

...oh well, enough of my rants...i'm just thankful that i'm blessed...sure, i have enough set of my own problems but that's not even half of what those kids have now and will have in the future...i'm just hoping that something bright will be ahead of them :)

...was in CDO the last weekend (well 5 days actually)...the initial plan was to attend a concert and a wedding after that plus a road trip come Sunday for some ancestral home visit and some pizza...all were done except for the road trip (i hate it when people bail out at the last minute - such spoilers)

...but anyway, this vacation was just what i needed, i had a hell of a work week before that (thanks for having 2 of your big boss around)...i'll let the pictures do the talking :)

...i don't know how many cups of coffee i've drowned myself with the last 5 days...and i don't want to start talking about the multiple dinners i had with friends...the pile of calories is just in time for the holidays (hey, at least i got an excuse)

...and ow, one last thing, i finally finished the fifth and final Percy Jackson installment...i super love it!!! i can't still move on...my mind's still filled with too much love for Greek mythology

on house arrest

...i'll be spending the whole Sunday on house arrest probably until midnight (if i can endure it) all because of a nasty prediction a fortune teller told me more than a month ago...she said that i'll be in a car crash involving a female driver and if there's any consolation to it, she said it will only be a minor injury (i wanted to ask her badly to define what minor is)

...better be safe than sorry you know even if i'm not the type who believe in those kind of stuff...good thing i still got a lot of books to read...i'm now on the 4th installment of the Percy Jackson series - The Battle of the Labyrinth (i'm super excited for the movie coming this February)

...i probably be cooking dinner for tonight (some friends might be coming over)...now i got few hours still before the day ends to prove the prediction wrong...the only bad thing is i forgot to ask her if its Manila time or EST hehehe

...and OMG!!! this will give me multiple wet dreams...i super can't wait!

shift Rogue and Thanksgiving

...after postponing my shift's GA for countless times, i finally got the chance to take the kids out last night...thanks for Thanksgiving Day, everyone got a chance to take some time off from work...they wanted paella for dinner so i took them to Cebu's best place for anything Spanish...had paella valenciana, chicken ala horno and some pork ribs at Hola Espana...enjoyed the whole dinner and was able to catch up on some office gossip...i swear i'm the most dense person in that floor, ignoring almost everything that didn't matter to me much hehehe

...had coffee at Starbucks after (i was already complete with the 2nd planner - i already gave the first one to my pseudo-girlfriend in NYC)...coffee was the dessert that night...we were too full that a bite of some blueberry cheesecake would be too much

...and the best part of the night was when we headed to a gaybar (they all wanted to, they haven't been to one and yeah, it's going to be my 3rd in this lifetime)...had some karaoke in a VIP room while having a view of men dancing in a stage showing how they can bend their bodies like pretzels without an effort...spent almost 2 hours doing karaoke and called it a night

..i'm definitely looking forward for the next one...it's going to be a bigger crowd :)

...my Manila weekend vacation was just something i needed...got to spend time with friends (those that i haven't seen in almost 4 years) and of course i get to spend time with my bestfriend...multiple coffee breaks, fancy lunch and of course the much needed retail therapy (i guess i went overboard with what i was suppose to spend)

...Sunday was super special coz i get to spend time with Simone (my bestfriend's baby) for the first time...we had lunch at Chelsea and head to Sonja for some dessert

...i'm spending the weekend in manila and it felt so good to see old friends again...catch up over coffee ( i couldn't count how many cups i've finished in the last 2 days)...this trip was supposed to be a reunion with girls but turned out few things happened last week that it ended with only me and my bestfriend :) good thing i already got my bags packed, i got no reason to cancel the trip :)

...my social calendar is fully booked even after midnight...by the time i get to see cebu, imma get myself a good massage and hibernate for a whole day

...but as of now, i'll enjoy more time with my friends...less photo op this time though...i'm getting lethargic when it comes to taking photos (which is soo not me by the way)

...i cooked sweet and sour fish around 5am earlier...not your typical breakfast eh? but i was craving for it the moment i woke up and yes, i am proud to say that it did taste super yum (in my own standards anyway) hehehe...

...last night the 2 fab fags came over my apartment to have dinner...i cooked chicken adobo and have them eat some leftover milkfish from lunch and they both liked it...i'm now starting to be good at this stuff...now all i need is a boyfriend to be the perfect guinea pig for my cooking - he's going to be one lucky guy (or at least i think)...

...i'm off to Bohol this weekend with my British boss and some guys from work...i'll probably skip the tour and head straight to the beach...pure shores mode one more time baby...time to get my tan on before x-mas :)

...lots are in store for today..a badly needed haircut and a new hair color plus i got to shave ASAP!...i also have to get some shirts altered (i bought something from Heather Miss Grey and it turned out to be a size bigger)...i also need to get a patchwork for my denim duffle bag and probably last in the list would be to finish Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides...i have been trying to finish it while i was in Shangri-la the last weekend but to no avail...the water was just too tempting

...this is going to be my final splurge list for the year then i can start saving for something more valuable, as old people call it -investment...i felt that i need to reward myself with little treats simply because i've worked hard for the last couple of months and rewarding myself is just what i need...so here's what i'll be getting myself for the next 3 months unless someone can give me any of these in an instant

1. Technomarine Cruise series - it's good to have a very casual watch that i can easily switch with my Philip Stein when i feel like it...and i soo love the color

2. Apple In-Ear Headhphones w/ Remote and Mic - music is my life support and i can't imagine living a day without my iPod...most probably this baby will be the first one to be taken out from the list

3. LV Damier Canvas Messenger Bag - this i think i something that i really need to think hundred times before getting it...this will make me broke for a month hahaha...goodluck...January maybe

...of course there are a lot of other stuff i wanted but i think these three are really worth mentioning...hopefully before December ends i'll get these babies in the bag :)

...i'm now officially a year older and got nothing else to do but to embrace the inevitable fact - that i am getting older and for every single year that's been added up i'm getting closer to my greatest fear - becoming some random old gay guy, single and probably lonely - such not a good idea to entertain early this morning...of course i'm sure i'll do my best to stay away from that route and i'm very sure i can :)

...i got the busiest Facebook wall yesterday that i can no longer count how many thank yous' i've said to friends...it really is heartwarming to know you got a lot of friends who really care but the best are those who i get to talk to few minutes over the phone catching up and wishing you all the best in the world :)

...went to see a fortune teller that was recommended by a friend last Saturday...we endured the horrible traffic to get to Plantation Bay where she has a small booth for fortune telling...i know two people who can read palms but it was actually my first time to get a card reading so i was excited :)

...i went on a retail therapy this weekend coz i needed something to wear for a friend's black and white NY theme birthday party and i'm soo glad that along the way looking for it i learned that Heather Miss Grey line was already available in Cebu (i was actually 2 weeks late of the news of its arrival)...i was looking forward to get my hands on some of the pieces featured in chuvaness.com

...i ended buying two...too bad the one that i really like didn't come in the right size but i'm gonna be sure waiting for it :) they are the perfect outfit for a laid back Sunday :)

...earlier, i watched a movie that will be probably the worst that i will ever get to see in this lifetime...it still puzzles me that they created a sequel out of this total mess...finishing Rob Zombie's Halloween II was like a 2-hour painful torture..if not for my friends watching it, i could have stormed away out of the cinema..it was horrible beyond description

...and ow, i also did a book retail therapy at Fullybooked earlier...i'm going to start reading on the Percy Jackson series before it starts showing early next year...i'd probably be done with it by tomorrow now that i'm on house arrest...off to Chapter 4 shall we? :)

...i've finalized my work schedule for the rest of the year and boy i'm glad i'll be working for only 4 days a week with a couple of 2 weeklong vacations for both November and December...a much deserved lighter schedule i should say :) i got all my flights booked...one for a post b-day celeb in Manila this 20th of November and the homecoming flight come December for Christmas

...had to celebrate last night for Sheila's promotion (this is the 2nd round by the way, the first time was in some fancy Mexican tequila bar)...started with some modern Aussie cuisine at Canvas - the food was really almost A+, if not for me being in a diet i could have eaten much beyond what i had ordered hehehe

...it's going to be a very busy night later..i got 3 parties to attend to - 2 birthdays and a housewarming...hopefully my alcohol tolerance can keep up...i better prepare some honey for a hangover fix
