turning 2012 around

...the start of my 2012 may not be promising but that doesn't mean that i can't turn it around...i have realized that my pessimistic view for the new year was just because of the German measles where i felt like i was literally on my deathbed but now that i've recovered, i feel like an Energizer bunny bursting with energy :)

...few things will keep me busy for the rest of January...my close friends including my BFF are coming over for Sinulog...i'm planning to take some time off from work so i can get enough rest for the weekend parties (last year was a BLAST!)...i haven't seen my bestfriend for a long time and this one is extra special coz she is now preggers with her 2nd baby and i can't wait to spend time catching up with her :)



...i will also be flying to Manila a week after for a quarterly business review in Makati...performance for Q4 is not that stellar and i think i may have a bit of a hard time for this review (wish me luck!)...one good thing about it is that it coincides with the premiere of Mamma Mia in Manila which is something that i really wanted to see...it creates the perfect timing for me to catch the show and cross it off from my bucket list :)



..there's still a lot of things i'd like to talk about but it's time to take Champ for an exercise (yes, i'm now starting to become a dog lover, this is sooo not me , i know! LOL!)

Sinulog 2010

...last week marked my 4th year celebrating Sinulog and i think this year was one of the best i ever had (the first year i got to experience it set the bar too high hehehe)...my friends from college came over as well as my bestfriend and an old friend from Singapore (talking about spreading yourself too thin)

...i ended up being a busy bee meeting a lot of friends that by the end of the weekend i was super exhausted...but it was all worth it :)

...these are just some of the pictures posted over FB and there's a lot more...different crowd, different place...the only thing constant was me :)









...i spent the whole Monday in a beach somewhere north for some much needed Sinulog detox...till next year kids :)

tired, late and a music video premiere

...spent one crazy weekend (well, tiring would be the perfect word for it)...spent Sinulog weekend with my bestfriend though most of the time we were locked up inside the hotel because Fuente was insanely crowded (we were booked in Rajah Park Hotel which was right in the middle of Fuente)



...this is what it looked like below...crowded is an understatement



...only managed to get 3 hours of sleep coz i had a stratplan scheduled (yeah, nasty work stuff - total spoiler)...did a powerpoint presentation with an aching head and took a dip in the pool right after dinner time



...finally got my package from the mail but it's a bit too late...the weather's back to it's usual way...and it's not that cold anymore...i'll be keeping these babies until i can get the perfect time to use them again



...at least this one is something you can pull off on a normal Friday night (dressdown time bb)

UPDATE:

...i hate the fact that some of my friends can't come over because of cancelled flights (my bestfriend's last resort was to travel 6 hours to Davao just to get to Cebu)damn! A+ for effort my friends!

...spent a nice big family dinner earlier (well, not really my biological family heheh but my bestfriend's)...it's always nice to spend dinner with spoiled kids around in full nosebleed mode - they're just soo cute



...Cyma's Baklava was quite disappointing though or maybe i just don't like the fact that they had cinnamon powder spread all over it...Tinderbox's version was way better...oh well, at least the Souvlaki's perfect as always :)

would you be tired if you did this for the weekend?

...last weekend was just super fast-paced for me, but i think i wasn't the only one...it's the Sinulog weekend so expect the worst when it comes to traffic but when it comes to party...Cebu's the way to go baby :)

...got to sneak out from work to spend the weekend in Cebu, and the first thing i did was to get myself a haircut (i've been having a bad hair day for the last 4 days) and went to Starbs after for my caffeine fix (something that's been deprived from me since I got here...yeah they got no Starbucks here, so i gotta make friends with the coffee vending machine)





...had dinner with Tetet, Ian and Chubaboink and had some carbo overloading...started off with bruschetta then some seafood pasta and some penne with fried zucchinis and eggplants...super yum! and best part about it is that i was able to get a bag of 3 muskeeters when i made a pit stop at the Waterfront...YEY!






...went to some posh bar after and mind you i was already more than 24 hours awake but i'm still kickin'...had lotsa dose of different kind of cheeses and caviar and got some Kahlua for the required alcohol for the night...made a few more talks and called it a night...






...was on hibernate mode the whole day of Saturday and started the day late...had dinner with friends from work to catch up on things and then i got myself a good massage and head for dreamland right after..

...did a little bit of sunbathing (actually that was bit too much) and few hours of walking to catch the whole Sinulog parade...i'm tired...let the pictures do the talking :)

...OK...this post is way overdue...i spent much of my time either hibernating (in someone else's arm hehehe) or getting drunk for the weekend with some of the best people in the world (claudine, jhem,soc, mahiar, arlyn, sheila, vida, rochelle and of course chokoleit - the girl version) hehehe... ...it was scorchin' hot Sinulog (and i'm telling you it's not overrated)...lots of beautiful people, colors are everywhere, everyone seems to be instant friendly (even moi hehehe)...though i passed up on all of my bookings and gave up the slutty tour guide role for beautiful strangers it was still more fun in a way i can ever imagine..to avoid much traffic and getting stranded, i just stayed at the Marco Polo hotel for few hours (got taste of some street dancing, henna tattoos and more)

...then had one of the best view in the street parade (thanks to the hotel's exclusive bleachers)...enjoyed the view for more than 4 hours then decided that it's time for some fab dinner...







...plan is to get home first to take some shower but traffic was a killer that we decided to just go to the Cafe Havana being less glam wearing my ever dependable black Lacoste polo shirt, some acid wash jeans and some fine leather slippers -- and it turned out we're just fairly dressed as anyone else's in the bar :)





...the dinner was a seafood feast, got some octopus, a lil' bit of prawns and of course the must-have calamari for appetizers to go with overflowing tequila shots and i lost count of how many pitchers of mojitos we had...smoked for the first time - not cig's but some peppermint-flavored sheesha/hookah...got some steaks for dinner few hours after...

***blow it or suck it --- either way i'm not complaining :) loveeee it...i'm so lovin' my life right now :)

for the second time - got one of the best view to watch the spectacular fireworks display that lasted for more than 15 minutes (we we're shouting like crazy kids when it started - and ow i forgot to take pictures of it -- was too caught up in the moment).. then finish the night off with coffee from Starbucks (with crazy dancing in between)...

...had an overload of Kylie at the office earlier from start of shift to end, was playing her songs back to back (and did some choreographed dancing when nobody's watching hehehe)...saved some of her best ever live performances from her Showgirl Homecoming tour...can't wait to grab my hands on this disc (though i've already downloaded all of the tracks in mah ipod......(***special thanks to Pat*** - you're indeed the man***) love the "Kids" duet with Bono - it's super hotness, not just the song but the people singing it :)

...got some friends who came over for Sinulog ('side from Jeepers)...work is super spoiler that all i could do is to spend some dinner and leave because of it...another thing is , i had to crash to someone else's place that's near to the office to avoid too much traffic or worst a walkathon since most of the roads near my apartment will be blocked for the procession....thanks goodness a beautiful stranger came to my rescue and offered his place for a day (to Robs: you'll be green with envy if you'll find out who this beautiful stranger is hahaha!)....

***mah all-time favorites - adobong talong and kare-kare w/ bagoong...super yum!

..got 4 hours of sleep, then had some lunch with my big bosses then went to the mall to check out some stuff but since it was so crowded, we headed to the cinema instead and watched Eragon where my coffee was stolen (yes...even iced coffee is a steal material nowadays)...went to the john and when i came back my coffee was gone...spoiler eh?...nyway, Eragon is quite OK....a twink eye-candy with a dragon and some swords and some fire...and mind you there's still a sequel...guess that's were Jeremy Irons will have more screen time :)



...last day of work and then i can finally get to parttyyy!!!! something that i haven't done in a long, long time....i need to see waves of beautiful people quick!...Sinulog Camwhorin' coming up...

...but as of the moment i'm stuck here, doing what i do best :)

7th journal, CK's dyed yarn knit, Wentworth Miller and Jeepers for Sinulog

...i only realized that i was spending too much on coffee when i got another 2007 journal/planner from Starbucks - for the 7th time...it has been one of those stuff that I've been giving away to some close friends for x-mas (yeah i'm such a cheapo hehehe)...mathematically wise, that's a total of 147 cups of coffee = close to almost 21k i could buy another pair of armani shades with that...oh well...gotta slow down with coffee intake moving forward, unless if someone's gonna give it for free hehehe...anyone?

...after almost a month, i broke my hiatus --- of going to the mall that is...there's not too much to miss anyway...was only there to pay for my Globe bill and for my credit card...went to Calvin and bought the new dyed yarn knit boxers -- best thing is it's red...as they say red is the new black for 2007 so it's super coolness (i'm wearing it right now by the way hehehe)...



...was supposed to do hibernation for my off but instead I spent it watching back to back episodes of Mr. Hotness - Wentworth Miller's "Prison Break"...he's got the best eyes ever!!! and he's all the reason you'll ever need to commit a crime and be locked up in jail...i'm almost halfway with season 1 (with lot of spoilers from my housemates)...

***to Wentworth...this is all i got to say..

...can't contain my excitement...i just can't hehehe...Jeepers (the love of mah life) is coming over for Sinulog...it was suppose to be a surprise but someone spoil it for him hehehe...can't wait for Friday...oww i forgot, I got work till Sunday (major spoiler I know)...but if there's a will, there's always a way :)
